Jobs & Life Skills Club

Jobs & Life Skills Club usually meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at the SNAP office 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Check under “Events” for the next upcoming meeting.

(It is not necessary that the member have a job in order to attend)

Job & Life Skills Club is an employment and life skills support group. It gives Members an opportunity to share their job and job search experiences in a positive and encouraging environment as well as developing important life skills. In addition, guest speakers from the business world come to give tips and advice.  Job skills training is conducted in a variety of industries such as office, manufacturing, restaurant, grocery store, retail and more.  We have held mock employment experiences such as the SNAP Cafe’ and SNAP Superstore, giving a real-life work experience. Life skills training may include housekeeping, money skills, nutrition, and conversation and interpersonal skills.

North Texas SNAP is looking for business professionals to share their experiences in the workplace including your first job, successes and failures, how you worked your way up to the position you currently hold and provide advice for being a good employee.

Volunteers are also needed to help with our job skills/life skills training – guiding Members in a variety of tasks.
