North Texas SNAP’s Social Activities provide Members with opportunities to form friendships at fun activities such as supper club, movie madness, and dances .
The Social Committee meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month via Zoom at 1:30 p.m. We encourage parents and community professionals to serve on the committee to help provide our Members with a variety of social activities.
We welcome volunteers to help plan and execute the three annual parties (Halloween, Spring, & Christmas), Quarterly Birthday Parties, Summer Picnic and other group outings.
Loneliness and isolation may be the one of the most significant challenges for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and friendships can make all the difference in the world. The more experience our Members have within the safety of the group, the more likely they are to try new ventures.
